About Jenny Newman
I teach the original Japanese Reiki in the Usui tradition in its simplest form, uncluttered and powerful, covering also some Western teachings. Courses are generally held in my cabin located in a sleepy Wiltshire hamlet near Chippenham, overlooking lovely, open countryside creating a calm and peaceful environment. The Course is usually held over a weekend, or by arrangement, they are very informal and enjoyable with every opportunity for discussion. You will be introduced to exercises enabling you to experience different levels of energy, meditation and tuition on the history of Reiki. Time is given for quiet and contemplation, when Reiki is experienced for the first time it is a very special emotion and not to be hurried!

I have practised Reiki for thirteen years and became a Teacher five years ago. I belong to Shibumi International Reiki Association, which is a non-profit association, its aims and vision is to support and promote the Japanese art of the system of Reiki. I teach students from all around the UK who are looking to start the wonderful journey of Reiki and to achieve a deeper understanding of the teachings of Mikao Usui.
Reiki has always been in my life although I wasn't consciously aware of it. When I was awakened to Reiki my personal and spiritual growth was incredible. Through this wonderful energy I have developed calmness, stillness and to understand with compassion the suffering of others. Reiki has led me to work with the charity
Healing Hands Network in Sarajevo, Bosnia giving treatments to people traumatised by war and grief; multiple rape victims; and people who were tortured repeatedly.
I provide Reiki treatments to people with various stress and/or emotional problems, or those who just want time for themselves for thought and reflection. In addition I also treat people who are terminally ill; people who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis; and many other illnesses such as Myalgic Encephalopathy (ME).
Throughout my Reiki journey I have researched the concepts of Mikao Usui and have used both Western and Japanese Reiki. I have found the Western approach deviates somewhat from the traditional origins; however both teachings are discussed and covered in the classes that I hold, enabling students to decide for themselves which is suitable for their own spiritual path.
I offer support at all times for students who need to discuss their Reiki journey and any problems they may encounter. If necessary the student can 'sit' in on a class and go over the system again until they feel comfortable and secure. I am always available to talk either by email or telephone, its very important to keep a connection with each other. All too often students can feel abandoned after a course.
